WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A WELLNESS SESSION
Since every person is different, every session is different. A session always begins with a discussion of how the client can best be served within the next hour. Are you feeling stressed? Emotionally drained? Stuck? Are you having trouble sleeping? Are you having physical pain?  What do you want to address most in your session? Next, the client's chakras are checked. From there, a variety of modalities may be utilized in order to best suit the client's needs.
AN EXAMPLE OF A SESSION MAY BE:
A client may want to discuss a situation that is causing them distress. Tapping or E.F.T. may be used to help the person work through the negative emotions caused by that particular situation. In that same session, a healing modality such as Reiki  or a Black Pearl Sanctuary treatment and essential oils may be used next to help calm, center and rebalance the person.  As always, chakras are cleared and the body's energy system is rebalanced. At the next session, that same client may desire to feel better physically, so the session will start with a consultation of their ailments. From there, the bodywork portion of the session will begin, which combines Reiki, gentle touch, direct healing energy on areas of injury, and non-invasive acupressure. Acupressure is gentle pressure applied to specific neurovascular points along meridians that are in need of balancing, as found through the chakra check and/or applied kinesiology. Acupressure is similar to acupuncture in that it stimulates the same points, but does not use needles.  Calming music and essential oils are used throughout the bodywork portion of the session. Chakras are opened and the body's energy system is rebalanced.

Holistic modalities are intended to promote overall wellness and to complement traditional medical and therapeutic practices. Depending on the specific modalities used, clients can expect to feel deeply relaxed while energized, with better overall focus and improved clarity.  Clients often report a feeling of calmness and a greater ability to maintain that sense of calm despite outside influences. In addition, if a client is undergoing medical treatment, practices such as Reiki  and The Black Pearl Sanctuary will provide deep relaxation and balance, which has been proven to assist the body in it's natural ability to heal itself.

MICHELE'S BIO:
After working 25+ years in corporate sales and marketing, Michele Slaght is now devoted to bringing to others the holistic healing techniques that worked for her. By her 40s, Michele had suffered numerous serious health crises, and realized she needed to address her WHOLE self in order to ever find healing. Before age 48, Michele had suffered a potentially life-threatening blood clot (DVT), retinal tears in both eyes, and fibrocystic breast disease. She  had TMJ so severe that her teeth had shifted and broken, which led to  adult orthodontics and cosmetically reconstructed teeth.  Numerous prescriptions were filled to help  manage the lengthy list of symptoms, which led to the need for more prescription drugs. A physician with training in trauma-informed care suggested her physical ailments may be linked to unresolved emotional trauma, and set her on the path to addressing that past trauma. Holistic wellness practices, E.F.T., EMDR and art therapy were important parts of Michele's pathway to healing her mind as well as her body. By identifying and resolving past trauma,  Michele has turned her health and personal wellness around, and is now committed to helping others do the same. The modalities that worked for her can work for you too!
Since starting her training on a full-time basis in 2016, Michele has  earned the Holy Fire Reiki Master Certification at Ursuline College, with Sister Ann Winters. At the suggestion of Sister Ann , she also earned her Certification as a Trauma Integration Practitioner.  Michele has completed additional training in Eden Energy Medicine, E.F.T.,  Aromatherapy, The Emotion Code, essential oils,  mindfulness, meditation, creative visualization, Healing Through the Chakras and Aromatouch Therapy at both Ursuline College and River's Edge at St. Joseph Center. In addition, Michele trained with a Shahman in both qigong and direct energy healing techniques. Michele has provided integrative wellness services for regular clients suffering from anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorder, autoimmune disorders, cancer, HIV+, migraine headaches, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, and allergies. She has written curriculum and led group sessions for both adults and children that include mindfulness, art therapy, Reiki, guided meditation, and yoga.  In addition, Michele is a Healing Arts Volunteer at the Gathering Place in Westlake, serving cancer patients and their families. Michele considers it her calling to help others on their personal path toward overall healing and better health, and is grateful for the opportunity to work with trauma survivors through PALS for Healing.
